I was looking at a friends blog earlier today and I'm going to have a shot at his game. Here's what to do..

Go to..

Google images

Enter ALL of your initials and click Search.

Click the first picture that comes up, then click "See full-size image"

Post your initials with the picture (or the url to the picture) and explain how it relates to you.

Post these instructions on your website, blog, etc.

My initials are: MEL

This is the image I got:

Now come on.. that does NOT relate to me in any way at all, or at least none that I can think of. In fact it scares me lol

Did it work for you?

Chocolates still haven't arrived, the post is just way out of order. That's two things now that have gone missing in the past 3 months or so! My friend is also an ex manager of the largest sorting office at Royal Mail in the UK and he says that you wouldn't believe what goes on there, even though they have security all over the place. Well yeah I've heard a few stories myself..

Time for a quick shower then I'm heading off to bed ZZzzzzz

I'm so tired

It's mosquito season, and last night they started their 'Let's bite Mandy' campaign. I awoke to that familiar high pitched buzzing noise in my ear at around 4.00am this morning. It didn't get me, so stupidly I fell asleep again. Within minutes it was back, buzzing once again. I knew if I didn't find and crucify it, it would feast upon me. So there I was, spatula looking contraption in my hand, whacking everything that moved. It took about 15 minutes before I'd found and squished it. Finally I could settle back down and get my much needed ZZZZzzzzz.

Chocolates still didn't arrive, there's hardly a hope they'll come now. The guy that sent them to me is going to send another batch at the end of the week, this time I hope by recorded delivery, bless his lil cotton sox :)

Our household has suddenly grown, now we have 2 cuties called 'Toffee' and 'Coffee' When I'd gone to pick up Toffee, the shop assistant told me the guinea pig in the same cage as bunny Toffee had been with him since they'd arrived. Yeah soppy ol' me, couldn't resist and took them both. Pictures tomorrow! I'm too whacked to do them now.

My sister, brother-in-law and nephew arrived today from England. They told me how they'd seen 3 Asian guys boarding the plane, each carrying a small rucksack. They then proceeded to board the same train when they'd landed at Amsterdam. My sister was terrified! Apparently the police had their eye on them too and followed them quite a way in the airport. I feel so sorry for the innocent people of the Asian community but I can also understand how my sister felt and how seeing anyone closely resembling Asian appearance carrying a rucksack would make your mind race . Today was the first time I'd been on a station platform since the London bombings and I must admit my blood ran cold, and jeeez I'm not even in the Uk.

I'm going to sleep now, my eyes feel like they've done 10 rounds with Rocky.

Goodnight :)

Toffee

To those that are wondering.. Nope, my chocolates still haven't arrived. My mood is changing dramatically. I'm perspiring, shivering, feeling dizzy, hallucinating. All the signs are there that I'm on the brink of suffering chocolate withdrawel symptoms. Oh boy..

Other than that we vistited the local garden centre today. It was hubbys moms birthday so we wanted to get her something different. Now most people visiting a garden centre to buy a gift would probably think 'flowers or plants'. We like to be different, so settled for a coffee themed clock and a 3D coffee themed picture. Yes, they really do sell those at the garden centre :)

Oh and while we were at the garden centre, we passed a rabbit hutch and the cutest lil bunny rabbit peered out at us. He was so inquisitive and such a sweetie. I wanted to take him home there and then. I even chose a name for him 'Toffee' Now I'm willing hubby to go back down there and buy him for me, he's already promised to build a hutch, so things are looking good. Mind you, he was the only rabbit in the cage, so knowing my luck, he'll be gone very soon.. But watch this space!

My update so far - NO chocolate and NO bunny wabbit :(

Still waiting..

A friend of mine is sending me some much needed chocolate over from the UK. The choccy here in Holland is good enough of course, it's just that I miss the stuff I used to eat back in England. So anyway, he sent this box, only this box hasn't arrived yet and that was 10 days ago. Some lucky bugger is probably sat there indulging in my lovely chocolate without a care in the world, while I'm sat here having chocolate withdrawel symptoms. Feeling sorry for me yet?

So anyway, while I'm sat here eating my tic-tacs and trying to take my mind off the box of chocolate that didn't arrive yet, I'll tell you about something else. It's about my cat, she eats bugs. I mean like mosquito's, spiders, flies, ants, wasps and more. All you have to do is yell 'BUGS' and she's there searching the walls and ceilings looking for the critters. We've found out that if you hold her up by her butt and back legs, she'll use her front paws like a venus fly trap, grasping at everything that moves. It's so funny to watch, maybe I'll shoot a video of her and show you all.

So anyway, while I continue to try to take my mind off my box of chocolates that didn't arrive yet, here's a photograph of the 'Bug Catcher'

oh and did I forget to mention, my chocolates didn't arrive yet?

So you drink Coca-Cola huh..

Yup, most of us love the taste of Coca-Cola, the stuff that gives you fizz, quenches your thirst and makes you burp. But how many of you know what other stuff Coca-Cola can do.

Here's just a few about the 'real thing'

1. Cola contains citric acid and are therefore very corrosive. In many of the US states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

2. You can put a t-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.

3. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

4. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It's pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days.

5. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for Highly Corrosive materials.

7. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!

Basically, we're exposing out mouths to a substance so acidic and corrosive it can dissolve blood, steaks, china stains, rust, grease, and even iron. Wanna cola ??

A few shots

Ok, so I've taken up photography. I say that and wow I sound so intellectual lol! In fact I'm an amateur and basically I'm a wannabee David Bailey. I want to go out there and see something that inspires me to take a shot, but so far it's just the usual things, stuff like flower heads, grasses, swans etc etc and so it goes on..

I keep meaning to go out when the sun sets and take that dream photograph, but for some reason my computer chair sticks to my arse and dares me to move. One day I'll get the better of it and jump up before it realises I've gone, but until then I have no choice but to stay put. I really ought to get a new chair!

Here are a couple of shots I took a few days ago. I played about with them in Fireworks and Photoshop to get the finished effect.

Out with the old..

For the last couple of years I've been meaning to clear out my closet and cupboards in the bedroom. So today I did just that. I can't believe how much stuff I've got. I mean stuff that I don't wear anymore, stuff that I wouldn't be seen dead in! stuff that hasn't seen the light of day in 2 whole years, stuff that I wouldn't even TRY to squeeze into and stuff that I'm keeping cause "I wore that when" blah blah..

So why do we keep so much stuff, and is it true that women are hoarders? I wonder how many guys keep a check on their closet. Do guys chuck out the old and bring in the new, or are they just as bad as us?

Actually this would make an interesting survey. Guys do you keep any old clothes because of sentimental value or would you rather throw it out and buy new?

Girls what about you?

I can't believe I'm sharing this...

Finding something to write about has never been easy, especially when there are so many blogs out there covering an array of subjects. So I'm going to tell you about one of my embarrassing problems.

You see I tend to miss my mouth when I'm eating. Yeah that's right, you go ahead and laugh. My food has a nasty habit of finding its way down my nice clean T-shirt all by itself without any effort from me at all. It's an ongoing problem that I've had throughout my life. It's kinda embarrassing cause I have to be extra careful if we eat out. I used to have nightmares about spilling sauce down my wedding dress whilst tucking into our wedding day feast. It never happened though, thank gawd! When I eat dinner each evening I usually end up with a tea cloth wrapped around my neck tucked under my chin, cause I know what will happen if I don't. You can stop laughing now and have some compassion about how I'm gonna suffer for writing this.

Do you realise how brave I am sharing this with around 100,000 people?. Yup, that's what happens when you can't think of anything to write about. I am so never gonna live this one down.

Toodlepip!

It's official

I'm bored. I could do loads of stuff but instead I choose to sit here and write a blog entry. I mean I could start doing stuff to this blog, like adding a nice background and adding links here and there. I could go and do some much needed sewing on the bridal veils for my shop. I could go shopping to buy tonights dinner....

but nahh, I'll sit here instead and then about 3.00pm I'll wish I'd done something constructive today, oh well..
